PGFI membership is by invitation only. UPenn and affiliate organization faculty members and research core directors are invited to apply.

Membership Benefits

  • eligibility for internal funding opportunities
  • access to genomics research and development core facilities (high performance computing, chemical genomics and cell-based screening)
  • discounted pricing for core facilities (bioinformatics, DNA sequencing, microarray, molecular diagnosis and genotyping and proteomics cores)
  • ability to sponsor non-PGFI members for their use of PGFI facilities

Expectations

  • to serve on committees as needed (e.g., seed grant evaluations, core facility oversight, faculty searches)
  • to participate in PGFI sponsored events (e.g., seminars and retreats)

To Apply

If you are interested in pursuing PGFI membership, the following materials are required.

  1. NIH-style biosketch, including current grant support. Genomics-related publications and/or grants should be highlighted.
  2. PGFI membership application, which asks for the following:
    1. contact information
    2. a 2-3 line description of genomics research for posting on the PGFI website
    3. a brief statement generally describing your genomics-related research interests and activities

Completed forms should be submitted to Joyce Donnelly () in the PGFI Business Office.

Applications are reviewed by members of the PGFI Scientific Advisory Committee. Membership appointments are for three years.
