High-Performance Computing
The High-Performance Computing (HPC) Facility
provides the hardware and staff to support bioinformatics and
biocomputational research. The central component of this
facility is a large (256 processor) network of
high-speed Intel-based computers, along with multi-terabyte
storage and tape back up.
The HPC cluster currently consists of 64 workstations, each containing two Xeon 5160 Dual Core CPUs (3 GHz) and 8 GB RAM. These cluster nodes are connected to an array of very high-performance disks with a total capacity of 46 TB. The disk array is backed up to a tape library.
PGFI computer and disk usage fees
will be assessed to all users starting May 1, 2008.
$ 0.072 per CPU-hour
An account on the PGFI high-performance cluster and use of the
facilities constitutes consent of the PGFI cluster Usage Policy.
$ 0.10 per GB per month
